Maxim Frolov needs medical treatment at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center

Maxim Frolov, 11 months, retinoblastoma, has a malignant tumor of the retina of both eyes, requires medical treatment at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (New York, USA). $101,424 USD

In October, we noticed that Maxim's left eye had a strange glow. At first, doctors thought he had a cataract, but a more detailed examination showed that it was a tumor. And when we arrived in St. Petersburg for treatment, it became clear that there was a tumor in the right eye too. They could not save our son's left eye, the optic nerve had been damaged, and his eye had to be removed. Maxim now has a prosthetic eye. All our efforts are now directed at saving the other eye, because the discussion is about removing it as well. The vision in Maxim's right eye is getting worse. He is being given chemotherapy and, as a result, the tumor has decreased a bit. But the situation is still dangerous. We've urgently been searching for a place to get help. And it turns out that a cancer center in New York is considered to be one of the best hospitals for treating retinoblastoma. Their comprehensive treatment is aimed precisely at preserving the organs of vision. Relatives and even complete strangers helped us raise money to fly to the United States and be evaluated. But we need additional funds for medical treatment. Please help us save not only our son's eyesight, but also his life! He is our only son. Yevgeny Frolov, Buryatia.

$101,424 is needed to save Maxim Frolov.

David H. Abramson, Chief, Ophthalmic Oncology Service, Department of Surgery, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (New York): "We offer a treatment plan that will be conducted under the constant supervision of an ophthalmologist. After a thorough medical examination, we can remove the retinal lesions, and apply cryotherapy (cold exposure), diathermy (heat therapy), photocoagulation (laser therapy) and intra-arterial chemotherapy. Hopefully, this will help save Maxim’s other eye and his vision."

The cost of Maxim's treatment is $93,000. The cost of accommodations and transportation for Maxim and his parents is $8,424, but the family doesn't have such a large amount of money. Dear friends! If you decide to help Maxim, then please do not let the cost stop you. Your donation in any amount will be gratefully accepted.
