Ksenia has a new heart

On February 5th 2016 here on this site, we told the story of Ksenia Nechaeva, a girl from St.Petersburg. Ksenia has a congenital heart disease, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. She needed a heart transplant at the Children’s Hospital of Cincinnati (USA). We are happy to announce that $10,000 has been raised by Rusfond USA donors to cover Ksenia and her family’s accomodations in America. After the transplant Ksenia and her family still need to live in America, near the hospital for a whole year. Ksenia’s family thanks everyone who has helped. Dear friends, please accept our gratitude as well.

On the waiting list

We would like to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who has offered support to little Ksenia and to our whole family. We have been living in Cincinnati since July of last year. We are on the waiting list for a heart transplant. The doctors at the children’s hospital are very attentive to our daughter. Cardiologists see her every two weeks: measure her blood pressure and weigh her. Every three months they do an echocardiogram, electrocardiogram, and take blood samples for antibodies - they need this data in preparation for the transplantation. We see a nutritionist. Thanks to a special diet, little Ksenia is gaining weight and growing. This summer, those closest to us arrived - Dad and our eldest daughter Anastasia. Doctors believe that their arrival has had a very positive effect on Ksenia’s psychological state. It’s very important that at such a difficult time, the whole family is together. We’re doing everything we possibly can so that our daughter feels well:  we take her on a lot of walks and to the pool. It’s been a year already since we’ve been waiting for a heart donor, but none has been available so far. We try to do everything we can on our own, but how much longer we still have to wait, no one knows. Please help us pay for housing. Anna Nechaeva, St. Petersburg.

To save two-year-old Ksenia $14,631 is needed.

Transplant cardiologist Ivan Wilmot, Department of Cardiology at the Children's Hospital of Cincinnati (USA): "Ksenia has been placed on the waiting list for a heart transplant. We are ready to do the transplant as soon as a suitable donor heart becomes available. Right now, the girl is in satisfactory condition. The family is required to live in close proximity to the hospital."

$14,631 is needed for housing and transportation for Ksenia’s well-being while she is in the United States awaiting her heart transplant. Dear friends! If you decide to help Ksenia, then please do not let the cost stop you. Your donation in any amount will be gratefully accepted. You can contribute to Rusfond USA using PayPal or by sending a check made payable to Rusfond USA and mailing it to Rusfond USA, 420 Lexington Avenue, Suite 300, New York, NY 10170. Thank you!
